58 Fore offers a unique waterfront assemblage of 19th Century brick and beam warehouses, providing the perfect opportunity for creating a spectacular wedding or other memorable event in downtown Portland. Until renovations began in 2018, 58 Fore offered the city’s most popular event spaces: industrial elegance just steps from the Old Port. When 58 Fore reopens, guests will be welcomed with the same gritty authenticity that made the facilities so popular, but now with first-class amenities, situated within Portland’s only market district that features the best food and beverage producers in Maine. 58 Fore offers three indoor event spaces and several outdoor options:
Room with a View
Room with a View defines rustic elegance, with farm-wood floorings, exposed wooden beams and brick walls punctuated with a sweep of large paned windows. Overlooking the world-class Fore Points Marina on the Portland waterfront, Room with a View provides unobstructed views of Casco Bay including Fort Gorges, Bug Lighthouse, and Peak’s Island. At 2,400 square feet, this room can accommodate up to 110 guests for a seated reception, 200 for a cocktail-style reception and 150 in a classroom/theater-style.
Blue Industry
Blue Industry is our largest room, featuring high ceilings, exposed brick walls, wrought-iron beams, and radiant natural lighting from dozens of historic windows. At 9,920 square feet, this room can accommodate up to 400 guests for a seated reception, 700 for a cocktail-style reception and 700 in a classroom/theater-style. There are many ways to convert this room for parties with fewer guests by creating “spaces” within the room.
Machine Room
A space unlike any other, the Machine Room retains industrial machinery that harkens to the Industrial Revolution, with wooden flywheels and leather belts. With exposed brick walls and wooden beams, the Machine Room features clerestory windows and pocket “alcoves,” plus a private balcony that overlooks Casco Bay. At 4,500 square feet, this room can accommodate up to 100 guests for a seated reception, 150 for a cocktail-style reception and 200 in a classroom/theater-style.
Outdoor Spaces
Upper deck: High above 58 Fore lies a reception deck that can accommodate 50 guests, with views of Casco Bay and the market district. 58 Fore Plazas. Multiple plaza spaces throughout 58 Fore provide numerous options for outdoor ceremonies and receptions. Fish Point Park hugs the Eastern Promenade around 58 Fore, offering outdoor ceremony options on the banks of the water. The Narrow Gauge Railroad runs through 58 Fore and can be rented to provide transportation for your guests.
